wichtige NEWS für österreichische Bluesfreunde
Liebe BluesfreundInnen!
Den Vienna Blues Spring 2008 samt Gala in der Stadthalle (der Vorverkauf für den Bluespass sollte noch rechtzeitig vor Weihnachten starten) im Hinterkopf, kommt unsere Lieblingsmusik live aber auch im November geballt auf uns zu. Einmal mehr wird sich viel davon im Reigen abspielen, da können wir dann auch beim einen oder anderen Konzert ausgiebig über den Blues plaudern.Mit Al Catasso und Rudy Rotta beehren uns zwei italienische Bands, die den Besuchern der bisherigen Vienna Blues Springs gut bekannt sind und deren Fangemeinde stetig im Steigen begriffen ist. Da ist abwechslungsreicher, elektrischer Blues angesagt.
Dass die Harmonika trotz ihrer Kleinheit auch heute noch eines der wesentlichsten Instrumente des Blues ist, kann niemand bestreiten. Carlos del Junco zählt zu den vielseitigsten Künstlern dieses Genres, für Feinschmecker des Harpblues ein besonderes Gustostückchen und zum ersten Mal bei uns zu Gast. Sugar Blue konnten wir schon öfter begrüßen, jedes Mal hinterließ der Mann, der auch das prägnante Harmonikasolo zu "Miss You" von den Rolling Stones beisteuerte, staunende Fans.
Billy Jones gehört zu jenen afro-amerikanischen Vertretern des zeitgenössischen Blues, der auch vor Anleihen bei Soul und Rock nicht zurückschreckt, und der insbesondere hohen Wert auf Unterhaltung legt. Dies alles tief im Blues wurzelnd.
Tja, und zu Altmeister Brian Auger braucht man eigentlich nichts hinzuzufügen außer der Aufforderung: hingehen!!

Christian Dozzler arbeitet endlich wieder an einer neuen CD, lässt es sich aber nicht nehmen, für einige Termine in seiner alten Heimat vorbeizuschauen, bevor es ihn wieder nach Texas zieht.

Dreißig erfolgreiche Jahre im Bluesgeschäft schreien nach einem Mega-Event. Und in der Tat ruft die Mojo Blues Band rund um ihren Mastermind Erik Trauner zu einem solchen auf, überdies mit brandneuer Doppel-CD im Gepäck (?Thirty Year Blues Affair?). Zahlreiche Gäste dürfen erwartet werden und als einer der Höhepunkte gibt es eine Reunion der Originalbesetzung aus dem Jahr 1977!

Again, I am amazed at what comes around in Northern California! Straight off the Legendary Blues Cruise, Tommy Castro and crew put on a wonderful show at the Horseman's last night. Thanks to the Sacramento Heritage folks & Big Mike Balma for another great time. Where else can one see young Kyle Rowland on stage performing with Magic Dick?
To wrap up this tremendous weekend, Popa Chubby on stage swapping licks with our local Jeff Watson! Whew! Thank you Marina! A Sunday to remember.

Nächste Woche starten die Vorbereitungen für die Tour von Dr. Jazz "Andy Nevala". Richtig, der Keyborder von Eddie Turner geht mit seiner Jazz Combo im März 2008 aufTour in Europa.
Am 18.09.2007 war die offizielle Releaseparty seiner neuen CD "Alone Together", welche bereits in der Kategorie Latin Jazz und Jazz Combo für einen Grammy nominiert wurde.
Hoffen wir mal das Andy ihn auch bekommt. Auf jedenfall ARBEITEN WIR an der kommenden Tour.
